Nutritious Green Smoothie Recipe
Doesn’t this nutritious green smoothie look delicious?!
I have made this for years when I need to fulfill my vegetable/fruit servings, so I will have more energy. This smoothie is a great way to cleanse and detox your body. When I drink this daily, I feel AMAZING! Having energy is important to me as a mom running on no to little sleep and taking care of everything. This healthy green smoothie helps me to do that. BONUS, it even tastes yummy!
Why should you drink nutrient-rich green smoothies?
It has a lot of benefits like getting your veggie/fruit servings in easily, increased energy, strengthens the immune system, staying hydrated, improving your bowel movements, getting your skin to glow, and many more!
Benefits of greens in smoothies:
- Kale= Powerful antioxidants, anti-inflammatory, boosts the immune system and twice the recommended daily value of calcium.
- Parsley= Loaded with vitamin C and iron, rich in antioxidants, reduce blood pressure, 153% of the recommended daily value of vitamin K and high in folic acid and beta-carotene.
- Celery= Anti-inflammatory, a good source of fiber, vitamin A & K and calcium.

This is a nutrition-dense healthy green smoothie for everyone!
This delicious green smoothie is my favorite because it helps me to have morning clarity and have better productivity. I tend to be in a bit of a fog in the mornings and it takes me some time to fully wake up and do things. This smoothie wakes my body up quickly and puts me in a great mood! What else can I ask for as a mom to two kids who wake up early in the mornings?!
- Two big handfuls of kale
- A small handful of parsley
- One celery stalk
- A whole ripe banana**
- An apple or an orange (The pictured smoothie has an apple)
- A tablespoon of Chia seeds
- 1/2 to 1 cup of almond milk or Greek yogurt (if you need more protein)
**If you need to reduce sugar, you can replace banana with avocado.
First, you will need to take kale and parsley off its stalks and cut celery into one-inch pieces. Freeze them ahead of time, so they will be frozen for when it is time to make a smoothie. You can also freeze the fruits if you want to have your smoothie exactly like the picture above. I prefer to freeze my fruits because green smoothies taste better that way. It depends on your preference.
When it is time to make the smoothie, toss all the greens, a banana, and either almond milk or Greek yogurt in your blender and blend. Add an apple or an orange and Chia seeds, then blend until it is smooth.
If your smoothie is too thick, add a bit more almond milk/Greek yogurt. If it is runny, add a little bit more banana. Your smoothie should be thick if all of your greens and fruits are frozen.
Pour your nutritious green smoothie into your favorite drinking cup and add a cute straw.
